Bug Patches

Decorative, sew-on patches that create subversive motifs or cunningly disguise a hole or mark.

You will need:

- a bug patch
- thin card for template (on old greetings card is ideal)
- scissors
- an iron & ironing board
- a few straight pins
- needle & thread

CREEPY-CRAWLY PATCHES AVAILABLE TO BUY SOON!

How to apply a patch:
(not suitable for children due to use of a hot iron, and sharp tools)

1) Cut out a simple, but very neat template to the size and shape of the desired patch.

2) Heat the iron to 'medium',

3) Lay the fabric face down on an ironing board & place the card template over the area you want to use.

4) Use the iron to carefully press the excess fabric towards you, around the card, achieving a nicely shaped edge. Watch your fingers don't touch the iron - ow!

5) Lift up the patch to check the print placement & shapliness of edge.

6) Trim the excess fabric down to between 5-10mm beyond the template.

7) Remove card & pin in position on garment / ipod cover / pencil case.

8) Stitch around patch. Contrasting colour thread can look good too!
