Candlestick
designed by Stephen Bretland
Cute vintage saucers are put to good use in our drip-catching ‘Jack-be-nimble’
style candlestick. The pre-loved saucers, mostly English and from
the 1950‘s & 1960’s, are paired with handturned,
wooden components. The wood is responsibly sourced from well-managed,
local trees and scrap timber. The finish is natural beeswax.
Our candleholder will take most standard, ‘stick’ candles
of about 20mm diameter, although ones with tapered bases require
less trimming. (There are some lovely plant-based wax candles available
now that have no petroleum oil content.)
We’ve used a metal insert, to protect the wooden component
from heat damage. However, never let a candle burn all the way down.
It’s good practice to replace the candle when it’s still
got 10mm visible.
