Printing

We screenprint our designs by hand with old fashioned wooden frames. Lo-tech on a very human scale. An eccentric registration system involving wooden pegs & split-pin hinges gives each shirt slight, unique variations.

Unlike many screenprinters, we use a water-based system, so no solvents are needed to clean our screens. (Solvents contain high levels of VOC’s which lead to global warming). We insist on using inks that contain no PVC or phthalates, (which are known hormone disruptors and harm the eco-system).

Our prints are fully fixed and UV stable. They are safe to machine or handwash at low temperatures (40°C). Please use earth-friendly, non-biological detergent. Not recommended for drycleaning.

Our traditional, wooden, silkscreen printing frames are conveniently housed in salvaged 'street' furniture.

We switched to a green energy supplier, so now our electricity comes from renewables such as wind, wave & solar power. The lights work in the same way as before, and we're responsible for less carbon emissions. It’s got to be one of the easiest ways to make a difference.
